On the Bus for Clean Energy Now

February 5, 2010 by · Leave a Comment

In two weeks The Hip Hop Caucus Clean Energy Now! Bus Tour will get underway in New the-wallOrleans, then roll on through the Midwest, ending in Washington, DC. Along the way there will be community rallies, roundtables on college campuses, tours of clean energy job sites and live music.

The tour will deliver its message of the urgency of clean energy to stops on its route. “Our future depends on coming together behind new clean energy solutions,” the caucus says. “A clean energy economy means new jobs, less pollution and increased opportunities for future generations. We need to connect the people who most need these jobs with the work that most needs to be done.”

The scheduled bus stops are:

2/18: New Orleans, LA
2/19: Pine Bluff, AR
2/19: Little Rock, AR
2/20: Columbia, MO
2/21: St. Louis, MO
2/21: Indianapolis, IN
2/22: Indianapolis, IN
2/22: Bloomington, IN
2/22: Columbus, OH
2/23: Washington DC
2/24: Washington, DC

The bus tour is a partnership between the Hip Hop Caucus and the Alliance for Climate Protection’s Repower America campaign; it brings together leaders from the faith, business and climate communities as well as young people eager to see the clean energy future begin.
