One More Down; South Dakota Coal Plant Cancelled

coalpieceA coal-fired power plant planned for Milbank, South Dakota, will not be built. The lead developer cited the economic downturn and the uncertainty of federal climate legislation now moving through the Senate, likely to put in place some limits on carbon dioxide emissions.

A spokesman said they will look at other possibilities for energy supply and that they already have plans to expand wind production in the coming year.
