Lobbying expenditures for the fourth quarter of 2009 were reported last week, and they showed that the U.S. Chamber of Commerce outdid
itself in 2009. The Chamber spent a total of $123.3 million in lobbying for the year — almost double what they spent in 2008 ($62.3 million). All that money went toward defeating health care reform, climate change legislation and financial reform.
